Just came off the Webinar with the WRU – these are the salient points I took out of it.
1. Sanctioned rugby training CAN start on 1st August 2020.
2. Maximum of 10 – 15 players per group. If more than 15 players, the group must be split in opposite sides of the field.
3. The training must be NON-CONTACT until the WAG reduce the social distance from 2m to 0m. (Next WAG announcement is 31/07/20 so things might change then as the guidelines are for ever changing).
4. ALL PLAYERS that intend on training MUST complete an online module from the IRB in regards to COVID 19 safety, prior to commencement of sanctioned training from 01/08/20. For our kids, the parents can fill it in.
5. From 01/08/20, registrations will be open and MUST be completed after the online completion of the IRB module.
6. Coaches must try to organise the pitch setup for training proactively, in order reduce the risk of infection.
7. 1st aiders must have stage 1 PPE (face covering) if dealing with slight trauma (let’s say a twisted ankle or similar) or stage 2 (face covering and shield if getting up close ( let’s say loss of unconscious or similar that requires personal invasion)
8. Parents and spectators will NOT be required to wear PPE when attending training, but must adhere to social distancing as usual.
9. Opening of the club and changing rooms will come under the umbrella of current guidelines from the WAG (whats being implemented now)
9. Balls and equipment will able to be used as long as we clean and sanitize them down during and after use.
Basically its a common sense approach for us.
